Andrew Stonehome's latest release, Then You Fly, is a deeply personal and transformative EP that explores the emotional journey of shedding protective walls and embracing vulnerability. With themes of reconnecting to one's inner child and facing the fears that often hold us back from being our authentic selves, the EP captures the delicate balance between vulnerability and growth. Through introspective lyrics and evocative melodies, Stonehome invites listeners into a space of raw honesty and emotional release, reflecting his own path toward becoming more true to who he is.

The title track, “Then You Fly,” is a standout moment on the EP, featuring a soaring chorus and culminating in a powerful, gospel-inspired ending that’s both uplifting and cathartic. This song serves as a sonic metaphor for trying to break through the walls that we build in order to protect ourselves, offering both a celebration of self-liberation and an acknowledgment of the struggles it takes to reach that point.

Also included on the EP is a stripped-back, acoustic version of "Then You Fly." This version highlights the song’s poignant vulnerability, with delicate string arrangements by Pablo Hopenhayn and eSession Strings, drawing out the innocent purity of the song that speaks directly to the heart.

The EP also features a beautifully crafted cover of Paul Simon’s “Only Living Boy in New York.” Andrew’s rendition honors the original while infusing it with his own sense of melancholy, introspection and joyful release. The cover adds another layer to the themes of solitude, inner conflict, and the search for connection that runs throughout the project.

As a multi-instrumentalist with a background in recording production, Andrew Stonehome wrote, performed, recorded, mixed, and mastered every aspect of the EP. The process was not just about creating music—it was a way for him to explore the themes of self-acceptance and emotional honesty that run through the project. With Then You Fly, Stonehome takes a bold step forward in his artistic journey, delivering a body of work that feels like a deeply personal invitation for others to join him on a path toward growth and healing.

In this EP, Andrew Stonehome offers not only a glimpse into his own personal evolution but also a universal message about the courage it takes to face our fears and fly free.

This song is a letter to my inner child — a reminder of the part of me I've hidden and protected for so long. Reconnecting with this vulnerable piece of myself means confronting fears, embracing vulnerability, and facing old wounds. It's a journey of healing and rediscovery, but it's also about reclaiming the strength that comes from being whole again.

Every word in this song is a reflection of my heart and has a direct connection to what I'm experiencing in my life at this moment. This song is the one that I feel more connected to personally than any other song I've written. If people asked me to give one example of music that I’ve created, this is the song that I would share.

Writing this song was part of an emotional journey for me, forcing me to confront and express some of my deepest fears and challenges in their rawest form. The process of facing these personal struggles has been the driving force behind the creation, recording, and release of this song.

When I recorded the vocals, the line "I'm coming home" instinctively felt like the perfect refrain to repeat at the end of the song. At the time, I couldn’t fully explain why those words resonated so deeply, but later, it all clicked. I was listening to someone speak about self-compassion, and they described the act of finding peace with ourselves—of embracing our vulnerable, inner child—as “coming home.” In that moment, it all fell into place. Suddenly, the refrain became more than just a line in a song; it encapsulated the essence of everything the track was about. I recorded the drums at Vinegar Hills Studios in Brooklyn, NY, with Reed Black engineering. The rest of the parts were recorded at home. Recording the gospel choir ending was a lot of fun; there are around 50 individually recorded singing parts that combine to make it sound like a choir.
